$12,000 Japanese Melons: Yubari King Melons Sold for Over $12,000 in Japan Auction



$12,000 melons: Yubari King melons

A box of Yubari king melons was sold for over $12,000 at an auction in Japan, according to reports. The Japanese melons were reportedly sold for one million yen or $12,500. With its growing popularity, Hirt’s, a seller at Amazon.com is reportedly offering 10 “RARE Yubari King Melon” seeds for $1.95. However, customers revealed that the Yubari King melon seeds did not grow to produce the $12,000 worth of melons.



One reviewer, Jim Walker gave a rating of two stars out of five, said the seeds did not grow into $12,000 melons. A review written by Walker said that “Seeds have been in my germination station for 14 days and nothing produced. While next to them 20 pickling cucumbers, 16 sugar melons, and 6 Cheyenne, 6 Jalapenos, and 6 green bells have all sprouted. and been planted. seeds are bad…”.
