First people to summit the 450 foot Helmcken Falls in Canada

Climber Will Gadd (pictured) and his partner Tim Emmett, recently became the first people to summit the 450 foot Helmcken Falls in Canada. With 20 foot long icicles and temperatures as low as minus 13 degrees Fahrenheit, the falls are considered the world’s most treacherous climb. After two weeks of careful strategizing, Gadd and Emmett completed the daunting task in four hours. The climbers faced ice sprays that could have frozen them to death within minutes as well as a 100 foot drop into a frozen ice hole below.
